L.98 C4 Stainless Exhaust System for offer in Manchester

Hi All … I’m fitting new long tube exhaust manifolds to my ‘87, and have decided to replace the whole system.
The system coming off is available if anyone wants it.
The system is all stainless from the manifolds back except for a few brackets, no cats, a pair of silencers down the centre and Ultra Flo final silencers. It’s fundamentally a derestricted version of the standard system at 2.5” diameter and was build by JP exhausts in a piecemeal fashion as the original system failed.
I’d also include the manifolds (original mild steel design with AIR connections welded up ).
I’ve taken loads of photos of it fitted and off the car, to allow refitting (see attached)
Will be a direct easy fit to any L.98 aluminium headed C4.
I believe the scrap value for the metal is around £50, so if anyone can pick it up and will give me £100 then it’s all yours!!
First come first served, but will scrap it if there are no takers by the New Year.

Dang, talk about back pressure
You should pay someone to take those and never admit you used those :)

Hope your going with a true dual 2 3/4" exhaust from headers (with X-pipe right off of the collectors) to mufflers

Here’s what’s been done by JP exhausts … nice job!
Only collected yesterday and with the weather being like it is I’ve not been able to judge how much better things are due to wheelspin! However it’s keener to rev, and simply keener! Sound is less V8 burble, and a more sophisticated “modern” sound for want of a better term!

However the old system wasn’t bad. Lovely mellow sound, no cats, free flowing silencers and 3” centre pipe. Essentially a derestricted stock system. Stock manifolds are biggest restriction.

Very nice, much better, all Corvettes should have headers and duals

Is there enough clearance by that left U clamp so that when engine flexes on mounts, that not bouncing off the clamp
When going to WOT launch ?
Be more clearance if rotated 180 degrees like right side is

It’s an optical illusion of the photo. Plenty of space there of the vertical plane. Main clearance issue is the passenger side manifold to subframe. A little grinding is required there, but that’s a known mod when fitting the EM headers.

OK,
Have enough free space when having to replace the O2 sensors ?
And assure the O2 wires are not close to headers to melt

On the ‘87 the O2 sensor is only on the drivers side. Dual O2 sensors came in later. The EM headers have threaded taps for fitting the standard sensors on the top of both of the collectors where there’s space (they also provide stoppers for cars without dual O2 sensors). You have to be careful with the wires just like on the stock set up. But it’s not too difficult to thread and secure back to the loom.

JP exhausts are a couple of miles from me and recently did some tweaks on two of mine on a time & materials basis as I supplied the replacement silencers. Very fair and top quality workmanship. They give 10% discount to CCCUK members if you ask?

Can't believe no one's snapped up your old system at that price

Still available??? I’m the Steve Jones mentioned near the start of the thread. I’ve got an 87 convertible. Stuart Curtis also pointed this thread out to me. If it’s still available £100 is no problem but getting it from you will be. I suspect you’re nowhere near north Wales?!
