On Monday we travelled back into France, through Briancon and following the Valllee de la Guisane over the Col du Lauteret.

Then on to Bourg d'Oisans, at the foot of Alpe d'Huez. I rode with andy in his C5 for the ascent of the Alpe which was a whole different experience to our '78 and, a lot of fun!

From there we went our separate ways, June & I staying in Macon before an easy run home.

The '78 went up and down the Cols with no issues and clocked up 1080 trouble free miles, and in the process racked up a total of over 130000 miles! Average fuel consumption was 18.6mpg and it used a little under a pint of oil. I've never used 2nd gear (auto) so much in the 32 years we've owned the car and it certainly saved the brakes a bit!

Two days cleaning have just been completed and the old girl looks OK top and bottom!

The next Corvette Club France weekend will be in Brittany, in April. That will seem a doddle after the Alps!
