This is a 1999 c5 air filter box do i need to fit a pipe here.If so what is the part number I need to order one. I had a problem the other day with the automatic transmission it was very high revving before changing gear and then it was struggling to change gears .it then went into first gear so I sto and got a breakdown recovery home.
plus I had a engine management light come on , I cleared the codes on the dash ,the car starts and sounds fine I have driven it a short distance and the gear is still playing up.
my recovery driver suggested I get the gearbox oil changed .
any help would be greatly appreciated.

That small hose is from the AIR smog electric pump which is located below the left headlight
That is to filter the air going into the pump to prevent junk from being sucked in and ruining the pump, so plug it back in

Would not have anything to do with auto tranny

You need via the DIC is to see what error codes trip and report them here so we could tell what is not functioning correctly
How many miles on the C5 ?
When was the tranny fluid flushed or its filter changed and checked the fluid level ?
