I purchased this oval port air gap style intake for a big block engine rebuild on my 1972 C3, but decided not to use it as it does noes fit under the standard big block LT1 style bonnet.

It was fitted, and removed without even running the engine as it was clearly too tall, and is therefore almost as new

That inlet manifold looks as though its a direct copy of Edelbrocks 7161 Performer RPM oval port Air Gap inlet. When I selected a suitable inlet for my engine it was this dual plane inlet I used. I actually gave away very little in the typical 1000 rpm to 6000 rpm rev banks of an oval port 'street' BBC engine and is possibly one of the best of its type available.
And yes, even with the raised L88 style hood it needed a 'thinner' 2" filter element instead of the stock 3" height unit.
A great but for someone looking to improve performance on their big block Chevy.
