Re-chrome alloys

I have chrome alloys on my C6 convertible which are not looking their best. I am toying with the idea of getting a new set of wheels (chrome or otherwise) or having the existing wheels re-chromed.
Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated and recommendations of businesses who can help would be appreciated.

As I understand it you can’t re-chrome alloys in the UK (the process is too nasty). You can have them powdercoated to resemble chrome though.

A firm called Duddingstone coach works re chromes alloy wheels .
It’s something to do with the specialised jig used to evenly chrome a alloy wheel. According to their website they can and do do it.
