Replacement Sun Visors

As I'm sure you're all aware, flacid or broken sun visors are a common fault on the C5. Mine have held up very well however over the past year I've caught the corners a few times getting in and out and they've broken and look very sorry for themselves.

I've wanted to replace them for a while, but prices from the usual suppliers of aftermarket ones were just a little on the high side for me, especially once you factor in shipping etc to the UK. After much digging, I found that you could order some off Amazon very easily that are exactly the same as the ones sold on most Corvette specialist sites.

Without wanting to insult anyones intelligence, to do this all you do is go to Amazon (the website) and change the region to US (little flag next to the search box, or just go to Amazon.com direct). Then search for these ones:

They cost me $84 with delivery and taxes etc and turned up in a week. Haven't fitted them yet but in hand they're already miles better than the stock ones (also with LEDs). Might be useful for others looking to replace theirs I thought. Few shots in hand below:

They look well-made
How does the stock ones come off to do the replacement ?
Surprisingly easy once you know how! If you look at the joint that swivels, there's a thin gap that lines up with both the base and the outer ring when the visors are clipped in. To remove them, you insert a thin-bladed screwdriver and then unclip and rotate the Sunvisor outwards as you normally would. This allows them to just pull out of the swivel point, you then fish out the connector and unclip that part. Reverse to install.

They do feel well made, different material to the originals but that's no bad thing. I've looked myself and they're exactly the same as those being sold for a lot more elsewhere, I wanted to have them in hand to check before sharing just incase they didn't match the picture.

There appear to be other "brands" on Amazon that use the same picture so I'd assume they're also the same ones but this brand I've seen a few on the US forums have also ordered and confirmed they are the same.
