Hi all
Has anyone used the Haynes service manual for c5 - Is it any good?
Thinking I may do a few jobs myself during lockdown - the GM factory manuals are available on ebay - but only from the states .
Also has anyone had any mechanical work done on their c5 - and could recommend? - I live in the south west of england

Someone posted on the club site a while ago that Haynes had produced this manual, so I bought one. No bad thing having as much info as possible about our cars. The manual seems pretty thorough & not as generic as you may think. It is no substitute for the 3 volume set of Service manuals though. If you expect to keep the car any length of time & intend to do some work yourself then they're a very good investment. I looked up a job I did a few winters ago i.e. replacing the fuel filter, my car is a manual & the Haynes manual doesn't say how much more difficult the job is if you have an auto. The filter is in the same place but the auto box makes access much more difficult I'm told.
Hope this helps.

Guess it depends where you are in the South West. Hilltop Services in Honiton specialise in American cars, including Corvette and seem to have a good reputation.
