The owner of this 1979 Corvette will have plenty of time to get his car repaired after a May 29 accident badly damaged it in Mission, British Columbia, Canada.
The 66-year-old driver not only had his Corvette impounded for 30 days by Mission Royal Canadian Mounted Police but also is dealing with a 90-day suspension of his driving privileges.
Authorities responded to the intersection of Lougheed Highway and Hayward Connector around 1 p.m. to investigate reports of a blue Corvette wrecked in a ditch.
The driver had left the scene when police arrived, but he was found at a nearby gas station, where he explained that he mistakenly gave a little too much throttle while making a left turn and lost control of the Corvette. He subsequently failed two roadside breath tests, earning a 90-day driving prohibition.
The back end of his car wound up in a ditch, and the front passenger-side fender suffered major damage, along with possible damage to the hood and other hidden damages.
