Hello everyone
I have owned my C6 (Z51 variant), for 18 years since new, when I lived in Dubai. I love driving it, but for the last two years have done very little mileage and missed many CCCUK events. This was due to a number of issues with the car. Most have now been sorted, with only a non-functioning passenger side window and a leaking power steering unit the only mechanical issues remaining.
I have previously replaced the drivers side window unit via an American vendor on Ebay. Unfortunately, that app will no longer allow me to buy the passenger side unit from USA. Fortunately my Mexican brother-in-law can. Consequently, one will eventually arrive at my doorstep and allow another repair to be ticked off the list.
So that leaves the final issue and my question. Are there any C6 owners in the club, who have successfully resolved the leak from the electrical connection on the power steering unit? Since this is apparently a weak point with the C6, I presume someone in the club must have. If so, and you're reading this, can you please confirm the following:
1. Method used
2. Product used
3. Vendor used
In the last 18 months I've fitted two "Remanufactured" units supplied by Eurovettes from ZIP in USA. One was faulty and the other failed. Over winter, Topcats Racing rebuilt and refitted the OEM unit. But after a week I realised that had also failed. They have tried a second time to fix the leak but that has again failed.
Regards
