It's my birthday today ( It's all right, I'm not fishing for congratulations - I think it's now more an occasion for sympathy rather than celebration 😞😉 ) and for the first time, other than cards from immediate family, the only acknowledgement I received was a 'Happy Birthday' email from Admiral car insurance. I realise that at 83 I appear to have outlived most of my contemporary friends - or perhaps just their memories. Still, it's a comfort to know though that as long as I keep driving there will be at least someone out there with a long (computerised) memory.......anticipation of the next Admiral email will certainly help to keep me going through yet another year ! :);)

Well, I for one, would like to wish you a Happy Birthday! More power to your elbow [and your car!]. Keep motoring on!

Cheers

Belated Happy Birthday. Hope you had a good day. 83 is still young and good to see you still driving and enjoying the Corvettes. Deffo appreciate all the good times whilst you can. :)

When one is starting to 'knock-on' age-wise in terms of years spent residing on our 'sceptered isle' (perhaps better described as 'septic' at times) there is often a natural tendency to 'look back' over the years and compare life 'today' with how it was over the years perhaps as a younger person. Our area is quite historic, although many of the early buildings are long gone. Having lived here for 60 years or so and given the advancement and availability of electronic communication, websites, forums etc it's surprising how few people from my generation seem to take advantage of it. Look at the CCCUK's age demographic and much the same thing applies......so many of a 'certain' age.....so few ever seem to make any use of it unfortunately.
