Toad alarm problem

I have a 2001 UK spec C5 bought new in Milton Keynes. Before purchase, the car was fitted with a Thatcham alarm (made by Toad) which works through the factory key fob. I have owned the car for ten years, but in the last week the alarm has started activating without any obvious cause. This can be at anytime of day or night (neighbours are not amused). The battery is good and nearly new, all obvious wiring is in good order and switches are making good contact. The only way to get to the main unit is to remove the front O/S wing !!! Before I do this, has anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions on what the cause might be? Any suggestions appreciated.

Not with a Corvette but I had similar symptoms on an Alpina and it was the interior motion sensor, replaced it and all back to normal. Did plug it into a computer to work out what was triggering it.

Thanks for that, just have to find where they have hidden the sucker now. What computer did you plug it into, OBD scanner?

Yes but it was a factory fitted alarm so tied in with the factory code reader. Might be a job fit an alarm specialist on your Toad one.

It `s been a bit windy of late and cabin sensors are prone to activation on pressure changes in many cars . Try closing the dash board and facia vents when parked up and see if that helps as the wind blows in through the ventilation ducts .

Something that I hadn't considered, unfortunately on the C5 you can only adjust angle on the vents. There is no way to close them manually.

If its a toad the flashing led that is mounted to dash somewhere should be able ro tell you what part of the system was activated during alarm ie interior sensors bonnet or boot pins etc done by number of flashes on disarming after alarm trigger (this is going back to when I fitted toad alarms some 17yrs ago ) do you know if it's fitted with ultra sonics (usual if it's a coupe) or a prox (usual if convertible)

Thanks for the reply.
Mine is a convertible so I guess it is a prox. On resetting, the alarm beeps 5 times (I think) but have never looked at the led, will do so next time it goes off. I do not have any info about the alarm so wonder if you can remember what code for each sensor/pin?
