Can any Tuner Pro users point me in the right direction to get the correct XDF and Bin files for a 86 C4.
Am I correct in thinking that I need $32 XDF file ?
Only just starting with Tuner Pro at the moment.

I do custom tuning, but not using the same tuning tool as you do, but yes 86 Y & F CAR 5.0L / 5.7L TPI
Bin file is a $32 used with the 1222765 ECM and calibration uses only a 27C128K E-prom
Tune is only 16K bytes, so not a lot of ability if doing lots of engine/tranny mods or any types of boost

Since I do not use that tuner program I do no know for sure
but what I think is the XDF files is the definition file the tuner tool needs for that year C4
The bin file is the actual GM calibration file that was downloaded from the E-prom of the ECM
so that is the raw data

I think you have to buy from the maker of tool, the XDFs for each model car tuning tool supports

I found a 32 XDF
Being I do not use this program, you need to see within the program how to import that before reading the EPROM to make the
$32 tune file

I installed the TunerPro software you use to one of my P/Cs

I took the 32.XDF file and copied that to the Tunerpro directory into the definition folder
Then brought TP software up, clicked on XDFs and selected the $32.XDF
Now loaded the tune which is a $32.bin of an 1986 C4 I had tuned with another tuning tool and all looks just fine

Of course once a tune is done the tuned bin file has to be burned into a E-prom and plugged into the ECM

once loaded into TunerPro than save bin file to another file name, so you do not overwrite the stock one

Or if you read the E-prom of your '86 than also save it to a filename you know is for your C4
Unless you have a E-prom burner to erase the existing E-prom correctly
you need a way to read and then burn your tune into a new 27C128 K E-prom (28 pin)
