Please note as well that it is not necessary for you to have to go uncovered during this time... if you plan to hold off renewal and go through the process of SORNing your vehicle because you don't plan on using it then please consider Laid-Up cover!
Laid-Up cover means you will still be covered for Accidental Damage, Fire and Theft (no road risk) and it is a low-cost insurance option that we have access to with a few of our insurers.

I bought a heavily modified twin turbo C6 convertible last week and approached two other brokers, one of whom would not quote without fitting a Thatcham alarm and garaging and another which was pretty expensive and again required garaging.
I was delighted when Chris from A-Plan Thatcham gave me a very reasonable quote and without any additional requirements and arranged cover immediately.

I am a member but was with A plan before I got the vette , still no complaints about their prices, but handy when renewal comes around next year

Definitely give us a go next year just make sure it's the Thatcham branch in order to get club discount (not your local branch)
