Browsing the BAT listings to avoid doing work on a Friday afternoon and came upon this. Not just any C4 though..

My lust for Corvettes started in 1987 with a C4 Red / black coupe. Cracking car and state of the art at the time with the digital dash.

Interested to see how high this one goes?

Not just any old Corvette though - and just not any Callaway (not that they are exactly plentiful) - simply the fastest road driven Corvette ever (or certainly for many years after 1988) Although I'm guessing the modifications made to achieve the recorded speed were only applied for that attempt and would no doubt have 'grenaded' the engine if used continuously.......

Correct. Compared to a standard C4 a Callaway is like chalk and cheese, and the sledgehammer to a “standard” Callaway the same.
Anybody remember Brian Neighbours Callayway? Once he put the Aerobody on it, it looked amazing. Not so sure about the engine modifications he had done tho.

Reading the blog it was a no sale at Mecum 2014 for $600k and expectations this time are for a million plus. The seller is Callaway and giving great back ground. Very interesting read

Not intending to detract in any way from the significance of this offering, but it would be helpful to have a bullet point list of the parts that were on the car when it made the record run and are no longer on it.
