C3 LT1 on Graeme Hunt website

Very nice car - clever advert - no mention of HP output ('72 rated at 255 'net' rather than 370 hp 'gross' rating for '71) - and weight penalty of big block (only 100 lb or so)

Surely that's Steel City Grey not Pewter Silver? The '72 is the least desirable being the low HP as mentioned by Ross which was to facilitate AC on just 200 LT-1's Apart from my two I only know of 1 x '71 Ontario Orange (restamped block) 1 x '72 red/red 1 x '71 white with a replacement block and one other white one I saw at the Nationals in 2018

They are thrilling to drive

In a nice way this is why people should join the corvette club, it's good to have such no it all's 🙂 when your paying that sort of money you need to know it's true worth, I've met a few people who have bought vettes recently and didn't really know what they were buying just that the car looked nice.
Both were lucky as they got a nice car for a reasonable price

It is a lovely car . I just noticed that it doesn't have power steering, power brakes, power windows or air con - was that the norm with LT1 cars? I think I prefer to have these options, that came with my car, even if they are all in my shed right now..;) And probably will be for some time....

Yes all options bar air conditioning were available with GM managing to fit AC on the last couple of hundred or so in 1972 by reducing the output

They were made that way for those of us who wanted the Vette to weigh less and less load/drag on engine for racing reasons
as bad years of smog crap killing off performance here in USA

Was a delete option when ordering Vette new.
Even went so far as some years had thinner glass to save weight

All LT-1 had the smog but I never heard about the thinner glass other than on the 1971 ZR2?

Irrespectively of anything said so far a nice looking car that will hopefully 'grow' in to its asking price within a few years?

Yes GM did use lighter glass over the years depending on Corvette model and options
Begin causing problems such as with the C5

Before the C5 Z06, in like 1999 there was a model called the "BillyBob", had no targa top or rear hatch, solid coupe
To better performance to reduce weight it had thinner glass

Then when C5 Z06 first came out it also had lighter glass and caused issues as when the next year Z06 was also
allowed to have the HUD, when ZO6s crashed and glass like for windshield had to be replaced and if unknown by the
owner the wrong glass (and then HUD not working) was either used or could not find the thinner version

It is although low optioned, smog missing and radio changed. Did they mention born with motor etc in the blurb? One sold at Mecum or some other couple of years back for $225k plus fees 😲

Would probably fetch more money stateside. Looks a nice car. Wouldn’t fancy driving it much without power steering tho.

I remember my friend ( the late Barry sturgis) painted a silver LT1, not sure what year the car was. Saw it a few years later at the corvette show at syon park in 1989. Still looked lovely, I tried to buy it.

One of mine is none power steering, not an issue - extra couple of psi in the tyres makes all the difference. When I dragged it out of a barn with 20 odd year old tyres that was a different story however 🥴

Haven’t driven anything without power steering for ages, so I’ve forgotten what it like. No power brakes however is not a problem. Still a nice thing to own despite its lack of options.

I have a 99 billy bob, i am not aware of the thinner glass, until the z06 came in 01 ???
