What have YOU being doing or are you planning to do with your Vette?

If you commissioned that car to be professionally built what’s it going to add up to? Huge amount of labour, a lot of expensive parts, paint job and a profit margin. You could on the other hand get a nice C3 AND a decent C5 for the same dosh.
Like so many venders , they think that just because a huge amount of time and money has been spent on what is ostensibly a low budget car , it suddenly makes it worth mega bucks ! :rolleyes:

Hell no, I don't like it at all, the wheels spoil it and the chrome has been replaced with black yuk. 🤮

Value is the eyes of the beholder
What their reason and goals are may well be mute to the next buyer
We all know as in my case to go fast and win races money is spent like water and as an adult know I it was not
water but pissing down the drain

I had goals I understood would be the money I spent was gone and if then wanting to sell it I could just forget
all costs over what a stock 1999 C5 worth is, maybe if lucky a buyer would also want some of what I did and
my selling price would go up

In my case as shown in 1999 U.S dollars
New = $45,000
First major performance changes added another $33,000 and if looking at it then looked like a stocker but was a sleeper with the mods.
If asking a selling price of $80,000 you'd say I was nuts

Hi mate. they're from a US company called Viking. They were approx $900 including shipping + £125 duty. So I think they were approx £780 all in with shipping and duty. They don't make a single adjustables, only double and triple adjustables.
These are the double adjustable shorter than stock version for lowered cars.

It didn`t look any better in the flesh , trust me .
Seen it only in pictures, and it didn’t impress me, especially when I saw the price. Trouble is with modifications many owners add up what they have in the car and ask or think it’s worth that amount. Reality is, it very rarely is.

It started off at £42, 500 in November 2021 !!! Alledgedly created by Protourer Garage in Hungary as a 1980 C 3 built on a C5 and mechanicals as the dealer describes it as a C5 underneath . Not sure how that was achieved without a whole new chassis being constructed . Being of Eastern European origin one can only speculate on the source of the C5 parts , was nicked or a right off ?? :unsure:

Also I forgot to state the obvious , it is clearly not a 1980 C3 . The trader obviously doesn`t have a clue ! But having observed him from a safe distance at Stoney Classic showing it off to Joe Public It comes as no surprise !

My frustration at this time of year, and what often stops me going for a drive is that once they've gritted the roads they don't properly dry out for days. The pavement can be bone dry but the road next to it still wet - the salt holding or drawing moisture. I was glad it rained all day Saturday to wash away the salt, thinking that come Sunday the roads would be perfect for a blast....but no, the Council in their wisdom must have decided overnight "ice risk" and went and gritted again aaaargh!! (there wasn't a frost)

I haven`t seen a gritter wagon or evidence of a salted road round our way at all this winter . Our totally useless cash strapped and grosely mismanaged ( nearly bankrupt !! ) Council probably can`t afford it ☹️

You're lucky then. On the verges along the A12 there are plants growing that should normally only be found on saltwater marshes - honest truth.

That is frustrating, I hate it when they salt, normally its the day after the ice which makes it even more annoying , then the roads are black and wet a nd salty for days. Only thing worse is when you are out on a lovely dry but cold day and you suddenly confront a gritter heading straight for you 😱😩💥💥💥

Took a ride out on Sunday - very local, so it was much of a town drive. Fortunately it had rained for a couple of days and with the mildish weather local council hadn't gritted.
Salt of the road is a double edged sword isn't it? - on the one hand it melts the ice and allows a degree of grip.........on the other hand when (after the cold spell) it still remains on the road surface, creating it own traction and grip issues.........o_O

Be lucky if they use sand or salt

Here is the North West, lots of winter snow and ice,
they use either cinders or rock chips and the whole front end of the car can have all kinds of paint chip damage :-(
Worse is with enough snow, state laws is you have to have tire snow chains on, try that with a Corvette :-(

If cops catch you without them on, they pull your ass over and have the car towed :-(
