As the saying goes "You get what you pay for"

Being the burners I use cost around $120 I doubt one costing $6 would do the complete job or at all
The Eproms GM uses in the ECM are 28 pins, the burner also has to come with software running on a P/C and
I doubt that $6 does that and the I/C socket it has allows 28 pin EPROM plugged in
I could not suggest you buy the $6 one, and then it is not working, and you're feeling I lead you into buying it

A choice I suggest looking at are example such as

( switch over to the Amazon UK website)

The burner has to support at least 28 pin EPROM, have user software and has an update function to get the newest software and firmware the burner has with the update function the burner has

One might fit your needs is the complete burner, software and also an eraser
Their software works on P/C using from MS Windows XP to version 11

I didn't think it would, but ever hopefully.
I will get the GQ-4x4 when needed.

Hey Steve,

I have the Moates APU1 that you’re welcome to borrow if you’d like.
That is a very kind offer.
I have ordered a cheap EPROM reader and some "chips" from AliExpress just out of curiosity to see if they work.
I have also made an ALDL to USB cable after a lot of research using a R232 to USB adapter and by reconfiguring the chip.
I have yet to test the ALDL cable and the other bits haven't arrived yet.
If none of it works I may you up on that very kind offer, thank you.

Sounds good, just let me know if you need it.

I will do thank you
Realistic won't be until next year as I have a new cam and lifters to fit and then bigger injectors.
So I need to data log before and after the modifications then get a new tune burned into a EPROM to get the most from the mods
