Back in the late 70's a buddy took me out in his well looked after early/mid 70's 460 cu in Lincoln Town Car. I mention "well looked after" because so often these kind of cars were not looked after properly and treated like an ordinary Ford or Chevy shoebox....i.e minimal/zero maintenance. That Town Car was smoother, quieter and better riding with less 'wallow' and tyre scrub than the early 70's Rolls Shadow we had in the family at that time....and that was maintained by RR themselves at School Lane Acton!

Here in the UK we have the kit car original bodied conversions.......and whilst some are really quite good in styling terms......others are less so...... significantly less so this the original donor vehicles today perhaps more revered (perhaps).
Personally I find most of the American conversions (as pictured) rather gross. Even the 'donor' vehicles are (in my eyes anyway) gross in many cases, certainly the 70's based cars. A nice clean late 60's Eldorado, Toronado or Continental coupe is a thing whilst huge, perfectly balanced in styling terms.
