Power steering fluid advice.

Hi all, what are folk using to top up their c3 power steering ? On the cap it says type A auto trans fluid. I have some merc benz atf but it does not state what type it is . Any suggestions welcome. 👍TiA.

The Merc fluid is unlikely to be compatible. Type A is really early ATF. They probably stopped using it in transmissions in the 1950s

Thanks both. I got some gm dextrose which is correct spec. But actually topped it up with some conditioner and leak seal as it was not as low as I thought. Adjusted the alternator belt while I was in there. Just waiting for a h/lamp on micro switch . Always a few jobs to keep on top of. 👍
