Thank you for looking at my add.

I am reluctantly selling my pride an joy a 1976 Chevrolet Corvette C3 4 speed.

This car is such a head turner whenever it appears and receives so much positive reactions from the public which feels special.

My C3 arrived into the UK in 2015 and I am the second owner in the here owing it for 3 years now. The previous owner was driving the car very occasionally as working full time in the US and decided to sell it due to contract extension.

I fallen in love with this stunning classic car almost instantly from the first day of owing it and I am sure this will be the same case with a new lucky owner.

I undertook an extensive restoration and some sensible upgrades to bring it to its former glory or makes it even better.

Probably the best testament is that when parked there’s no oil puddles under the car, which is very rare for a classic car.

Generally the car is in good working order, drives very well, stops as it should (no pulls to the side), the engine always keeps the temperature at 200F even in heavy traffic jams in the middle of the summer.

Below is the general overview of the restoration works undertaken and I have all these works photographed so can provide evidence for reference.

TRANSMISSION AND SUSPENSION

When owing a classic car probably the most important thing is that the car handles as it should and is safe to drive.

The entire transmission was removed with all components cleaned and fully restored. This included the following works:

  • New flywheel, heavy duty clutch and pilot bushing
  • Gearbox fully rebuilt by specialists with new bearings and gaskets
  • LS differential fully rebuilt by specialist with the set of gaskets as well as the ring and pinion replaced
  • All U-joints checked and greased up
  • The car is also fitted with new brake lines, brake pads and calliper piston seals
  • Front and back shocks replaced with new ones by Sachs
  • Original rear struts replaced with new adjustable ones
  • Front suspension fully rebuilt with new poly bushings
  • Lower and upper ball joints replaced with new ones by AC Delco
  • All suspensions parts cleaned and painted
In addition the entire underfloor was degreased and underbody protection applied throughout.

THE ENGINE

The engine is a stock 350cu 5,7 L chevy V8 small block and although appears to be non-number matching it is in very good condition.

The engine was fully cleaned externally and flushed with 2 oil changes. In addition the oil pan was cleaned and repainted with a new rubber gasket installed.

Valve covers have also been upgraded to aluminium die cast by Holley M/T painted in chevy orange engine enamel and fitted with new rubber gaskets.

Air filter was also replaced and the air filter intake cleaned throughout.

A set of new 60inch long side pipes is also fitted (and heat wrapped for safety), which in combination with the 4 speed manual gearbox provide an extraordinary soundtrack and there is no need for a radio in the cockpit when you can hear that rumble of the V8!

The engine bay was also cleaned and painted as much as possible.

THE EXTERIOR

The trim tag code indicates that the car was originally painted in Chevy’s flame orange and, at some point it was painted in black. The paintwork is generally in nice condition however some odd blemishes and normal use scratches or paint chips are present, but there are no micro blisters (a tiny bit on one of the head lamps). There are some small cracks on the nose (usual for a fiberglass car). Generally the car paint can be described as 10 footer.

In addition a period correct aluminium luggage rack was installed and with the purpose detachable brackets the T-tops can be fixed on it, leaving plenty of space in the storage compartment for all necessities when driving to classic car shows.

The car has also both front grilles replaces with new, lower valance
and air dam installed ensuring correct air flow to the engine compartment.

American style plates have also been added which gives the car that extra presence.

INTERIOR

The tan (buckskin) interior is generally in a superb condition with most of panels replaced with new and the remaining parts fully restored.

The new parts are top dash pad, door cards, rear window trim, emergency break central console, seatbelts lower retractors covers etc.

The seats are in excellent order with no rips or tears.

All metal trim such as centre gauges and gearshift consoles, door handles etc, was fully restored and looks like new.

Carpets are generally in good condition and were restored with full deep clean and dyed.

SUBFRAME

When working on the car had some rust was noted but this was only a surface rust so presume the car was probably divining in states with a mild climate. Once the entire cabin was stripped to the shell all body parts were inspected, cleaned and painted. Additionally a layer of heat insulation and sound deadening liners applied throughout. The birdcage, firewall, floors, frame etc are all rust free.

These are only the major works and there are plenty of more upgrades such as new vacuum lines and head lamps actuators to be one of the examples. Many nuts, cotter pins and internal screws were replaced with new.

Just the cost of parts and materials stand for £6,000 and I can provide a full list of parts as well as receipts.

Tyres are just 3 years old with no more that 1,500 miles on them and original full size spare wheel is also there.

The car will come with some freebies such as assembly manual, door hinge springs etc.

Generally the car is ready to be enjoyed with no immediate work required, so get yourself a piece of American classic, put the t-tops down and cruise in style.

I am asking £19,500 but open to sensible and respectful offers.

Polite Notice: no low ballers and no tyre kickers please.
