You can get figures from the DVLA but not sure how reliable they are. Wat I can tell you is, we have 55 registered with our members in the CCCUK including my 59
Bob West has one that he uses regularly, think its a '57, might also be a '56 :)

This is an interesting thread :) owning a 58 myself I have often wondered how many other 58's are in the UK especially Fuel Injected models, maybe Rob Tring is able to shed any light on this subject.....?

I know Adrian Newey had one [might still have it] - I had a brief but amusing conversation with him about it when he visited the Club stand with his wife and daughter at the London Classic Car show one year!

Adrian Newey was only a member for a year. probably had other things on his mind :) He had a 55.
To put numbers to bed here are the CCCUK C1 numbers as of today.
Sorry I was wrong when I previously quoted 6 1958s as I hadn't taken into account members who have more than one Vette & put their C1 as their second or third Vette.
53-0, 54-2, 55-0, 56-3, 57-8, 58-9, 59-10, 60-6, 61-12, 62-7
Total 57

Is there anything that makes a '53 rarer that other early years?
First production year, only 300 made most if not all sent to dealers for promotion & to get good reviews. Only 225 exist today so hens teeth come to mind. I think it's safe to say we wont have one in the club any time soon!

Only really an investment piece nowadays along with bragging rites to owning the first year of corvette. Don’t get me wrong, a nice thing to own, but drives horrible, underpowered, no side windows, only old fashion curtains. But it is what it is. BIG money today.
We found one parked up/dumped, in a rear yard in Clearwater in the early 90’s. Tried for years to buy it as it was going to rack and ruin. Open to the elements etc. Owner wouldn’t let it go. In the end it fell apart. Such a shame.

I was asked to go to Retro Classic Cars to check out 2 x C2's they had for sale and was more interested in their '54 which is stunning

£65K now but I'm sure they had it at £80k when I visited which would have been early 2025
