Black 1979 C3 Small Block

I have owned my C3 for over 10 years but after having moved down to East Sussex I haven't really used it as much so have decided that it is time for someone else to get enjoyment from it rather than have it sit in the garage.

The car was imported from Florida in 1990. I have all the paperwork for this along with lots of other documents that confirms work that was undertaken prior to my ownership as well as what I have done. There's too much to list here but some of the keys items are as follows:

The engine was rebuilt in 1994 by the American Car Care Centre. Unfortunately the invoice does not detail what was actually done. The engine is fitted with an Edelbrock Torker II intake matched to an Edelbrock carburettor. I'm not sure when these items were fitted.

The car was repainted in 2006 by Alan Carrington Classic Cars in Maidstone at which time they replaced weather seals and some bits of trim. I'm not sure whether the Eklers Headlight conversion was done at the same time but I suspect this was undertaken when the car was still in the States.

Then in 2007/8 various suspension components were replaced followed in 2009 by a new interior - door cards, seat covers, dashboard. At the time the original beige carpet was not replaced but I replaced these with the current red ones in 2015 supplied via Eurovettes and also replaced the rear storage trims and had the seat belts refurbished in red to match.

The American Race Wheels were fitted before my ownership but I replaced the tyres in 2016 with General Grabbers (235 at front and 275 at rear) which have only covered a few hundred miles since. I had previously had a four wheel alignment undertaken. The rear has adjustable lowering bolts installed. All these items have greatly improved the handling of the car which was pretty vague before.

I have also done various other smaller items to ensure that everything works correctly, the only exception to this is the heater / Aircon (components previously removed) which has never bothered me as neither are really needed.

Since my ownership it has passed every MOT with only four advisories which were all attended to at the time. Despite not needing a MOT anymore I have continued to get these done to have another pair of eyes check it over. The most recent MOT was undertaken in August and I replaced the oil and filter at the same time. Obviously it no longer needs road tax as it is listed as a Historic vehicle.

When I first bought the car I wanted to change the headlights back to pop up and I purchased some off eBay complete with all the necessary pipes and actuators. The fixed headlights subsequently grew on me and does give the car a distinctive look so I never bothered with the conversion. If a purchaser wanted to undertake a conversion I'm sure we could come to some arrangement which would give me some more space in my loft.

I have also undertaken some discrete and hopefully tasteful upgrades which can be seen in the photos as well as adding remote locking.

I believe that the car compares well to lots of other C3's but in my opinion this is not a show car but this has worked for me as I wanted to use it and not worry too much about taking it out. It is an honest car which is not trying to be something it's not. I will shortly be advertising it more widely at what I believe is a fair price - £15,000, however if a member is interested I would be open to a reasonable offer.
