Been in very sunny Nerja near Malaga for the week for a break with the wife , kids and grandkids. Was just saying this morning after four days that I was missing my vette.
I popped into lidl just up the road from the villa to be confronted by a nicely flared and spoilered up 79! Running english plates. Waited for the owner to return and had a quick chat. Nice friendly english guy living in spain. New 454 fitted and the paint job he said was a quick cheap job ,( which looked pretty good all around) only cost 1500 euros. Bloomin bargain I say.
He has some fuel percolation issues and also flooding ,he is going for even bigger wheels and tyres next so even more of a “hot wheels” look.
Made my afternoon, sounded awesome with the sidepipes. Anyone knew the car when it was in the uk? He bought it damaged apparently. IMG_0153.jpegIMG_0154.jpegIMG_0155.jpegIMG_0156.jpeg

The same wide body kit as mine minus the front splitter and side skirts . Interesting to note it also has the poly nose section de - seemed and bonded in flush as I had done on mine . 👍 Does anyone know if the kit a version of Greenwood ? I have seen images on internet searches of Greenwood Vettes with that style of rear wing with the up turned lip .

I wonder how long he will be on uk plates in spain. Certainly was attracting a lot of attention and spun a wheel when he blipped the big blog out of the parking space.

Interesting that being a 'T' plate means its registered as a '78, perhaps '79......so engine transplant perhaps?

He needs a thermal sandwich gasket plate thingy between the inlet manifold and the carb to help with the percolation. I had it bad on my little 327, and the thermal gasket really helped a lot as I don't get it now.

Yes , he said a 79, with new 454 fitted. 👌
Hope the car is 'old' enough to not have that late C3 rear-end........the 454 will likely demolish that. Guess Spanish reg's are fairly lax?......no rear number plate lights would have the old bill 'tugging' him!
