We took our newly acquired 73 on the retro cannonball ireland last weekend including full 70s fancy dress... what an absolute blast. Anyone interested in doing it next year would have a ball ... a really well run event and for a great charity ... here are a few images of it ... more to follow when we get official pics through ... nearly lost a side pipe.. did lose a headlight and a few other things but the 1973 c3 held up beautifully for a first 750 mile trip round irelands scenic backroads.

Hey Derek ... Passenger side pipe mounting bolts shook loose ... we used the mechanics full supply of steel cable ties on second day then resorted to coat hangers on last day lol ..... and one of the headlights just randomly fell out and disintegrated whilst in the down position .... First time owning a classic so I guess these are the things we expect whilst running with 74 other cars at pace on bumpy roads :)

I could not count how many hot chicks back in the mid 1970s I went on a date with,
and they burned a leg getting in/out of my 1975 with the Hooker headers/sidepipes, and they would never go out with me again :)

Thats because you wern't a 'gentleman' and politely ask her to remain seated while you dash around to the passenger side of the car and help the young lady get out of the car without burning her legs. So much better for you if she was wearing a miniskirt and perhaps you helped guide her legs over the hot exhaust (and probably by then your very hot breath......)

Here in the USA in the 1970s women libs were a real big thing and any guy opening a door for them would be called a male pig. :(
Yea, those miniskirts were wild, but most women were thin back then !

Anybody else think that the 73 looks every bit as classic as the dino? Especially as there is probably a 275 K or more difference in prices. !
corvettes are great value 👍

Did you sticker the 73 up just for the cannonball or is it like that all the time, looks great, liking the body coloured rallye’s a subtle touch 👍
