C3 Tyre Upgrade

Recently replaced the rather ancient rear Toyo 18's on my C3 with a new pair of Michelin PS 5's (and all ready to go on the rear-end of the car).....once front end suspension/steering overhaul is completed.
Stock size tyre (215/70/15 for early C3) or 225/70/15 (later C3) relates to 26.9" diameter for early cars and 27.4" diameter for later cars.
My ancient rear Toyo's were 285/40/18 with 27" diameter This size is proving difficult (and expensive) to find currently. I've bought 275/40/18 sized tyres. These are currently relatively common place. used by many car brands and offered by multiple manufacturers. Diameter of tyre drops to 26.7" diameter a mere 1.5%/2% - a minimal change.

Owww.... shiny. Gotta love a good new set of tyres. Let us know how your C3 gets on with that tyre. Good to get recommendations for when I need to replace the tyres on mine.

Given what they cost some 15 years ago (and even worse perhaps today) and yes, ever so slightly obsessive about keeping them polished & waxed etc. The micro polished surface is one that even good old Sovol metal polish is far too coarse.

Out of interest Ross, which alloy metal polish do you use on yours? Mine could do with a polish at some point, and as yours are shiny, why not go with something that works?

Mother's billet alloy polish.....or American Racing wadding. There are others. Only use Sovol on inside part of 'spun' wheel rim (which wasn't micro polished.
