Reason for sale, looking for a C7 G.S, hopefully. Original bodywork not too bad for a 23 year old. really looking for this to go to a good home, NOT to be sold on, or heavily modified etc, Large history file with ALL old mots, build sheet, import papers, certificates, rare catalogues, articles.
I have priced this between a coupe and ZO6 prices at the moment. £17,500.00

A rare creature indeed. The only other "hardtop" I know of in UK was a blue car that had the registration number TE51CLE back in the day, so perhaps a 2001 car. IIRC the FHC/hardtop was only built for a limited time before evolving into Z06 around 2001 and all such cars in UK are probably, by definition, personal imports from the US. I think it was originally launched as a base version of C5 before eventually being developed into the rather different Z06.

Good luck with the sale! Sounds a nice car.

In 1999 its nickname was the “Billy Bob,” initially meant to be an entry-level model using fixed-roof or hardtop architecture, the third body style created for the C5.

The original concept was supposed to feature lower-cost cloth seats and manual windows, but Chevy research would soon discover that the public had higher expectations of what a Corvette should be.
So the entry-level model was scrapped in favor of a slightly lower-priced performance coupe with leather seats and a manual-only transmission option.

The hardtop included the 345-hp LS1 engine and Z51 performance-handling package. Only five exterior colors were available.

Because of its fixed roof, it was 12% stiffer than the Corvette coupe and some 80 pounds lighter, which gave it a natural performance advantage over the other models
Price wise, the hardtop was about $2,000 less than the standard Corvette coupe.

Only 4,041 were built in 1999 and another 2,090 in 2000.

These were disappointing numbers, so Dave Hill and his engineers decided to use the fixed-roof coupe for an entirely different purpose.
And that purpose became the reincarnation of the Z06 nameplate.
The original Z06, of course, was the moniker for a performance Sting Ray in 1963 that racers could order to do battle with Cobras & other sports cars in SCCA competition.

Tristram's TE51CLE was a UK spec coupe supplied by one of the authorised Vauxhall dealers at the time. It was not a FRC.
However there was a blue FRC in the West Country owned by a guy called Jason. I know he had it in 2003 but have since lost contact with him.

Final price drop, I know corvettes are now dropping slightly in price so, £14750.00 give me a call, have a chat about a piece of corvette motoring history, you wont find a better FRC in the U.K 07811 615707

Also is because they just do not know about that model's design

The Billy Bob (FRC) slant was to be a racer, so functions were not on the car as base 1999 had to reduce unsprung weight
and weight overall, even the windows had thinner glass
Also, this was a rolling testbed by GM for testing what would be needed for the C5 Z06 to come out

Be great car to have the PCM tuned up, better brake pads, track tires and go strip, track or autocross racing

Quite, also there are no rattles or squeaks, like 99% of targa top cars do, this one is even lighter due to the titanium exhaust fitted !
