C5 Speakers

Hi all,

I'm in the process of changing my head unit with a floating Pioneer one and after reading that using stock speakers with the required interface produces less than desirable sound, I'm looking to upgrade and rewire the speakers too.

Rear speakers should be easy enough, there's not much to it, but for front speakers I have two choices:
- Go for two 6.5" with the required door adapter (Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 6.5" 2-Way Coaxial Speaker Set (MOR TEMP ULT)
- Go for two 8" subs with tweeters (Morel Universal 8" 2-Way Component Speaker Set (MOR IP UN 82))

I have never, ever done any audio work so I have a few questions:
- Are the two options comparable in terms of complexity of installation?
- Would option 2 fit right into the existing Bose door panel?
- Would Option 1 require a compulsory sub in the back to produce acceptable sound quality or can I get away with not having one?

Any help is appreciated, thank you

If your going to run an 8" sub in both doors then you would really require a decent amp to work them . We are running a double din kenwood in our c5 currently using the stock bose door speakers and rears (convertible car) but we have added an amp and sub into the large floor box in boot area .this allows us to high passive door speakers (kills low bass frequency) so less distortion and sub in back takes care of the bass.
Our c6 on the other hand is just running kenwood headunit and uprated sub and door speakers and a 4 channel amp no sub in back and prob sounds a bit better than the c5 give us a call if you need advice 07801150162
