C6 side window regulator replacement

I have a 2005 C6 convertible which has a broken/collapsed offside window regulator Part number 25995142 .
The cable has rusted through.
I had the car from the Stratstone franchise in 2006.
I have checked with Parts USA at Stockport who told me that these units are discontinued by Corvette and are no longer available.
I then contacted Keith Besci of Eurovettes in the US who also confirmed that to be the case.
He said he has been looking for a unit for some time for another owner without success.
Are there any other members with Vettes of this model and vintage that have suffered with this problem?
Doesn’t sound good in the long term.

Yes that looks like the one (offside)
I had to replace the near side a couple of years ago but the part was available then.
It's not cheap but is the same price as before.
I note on the website connection it is listed 'out of stock' and 3 members are on the waiting list.
