Clock fixed - easiest fix possible

The clock in my 1972 c3 has never worked. The garage I purchased the car from said the clock was faulty.

It's been one of those jobs to do for ages and today, I decide to pull the centre dash out to remove the clock. Those two nuts under the centre console are a PITA. I also removed the passenger side dash panel to make access a bit easier.

I had planned to take the clock apart and try and fix it following one of several online guides, with buying a new clock a last resort

I got as far as getting the centre dash out ready to start pulling all the wires off the gauges and noticed the second hand had moved. Sure enough, with the dash pulled out it, the clock was intermittently working. I found that the nut on the back of the clock, that holds the electrical blade connector in place was loose. Tightened it up and the clock works fine. Time set correctly using the adjuster which did need a bit of wd40 on it, and it's keeping good time.

Result and no money spent. A perfect, but rare example of something bhe most obvious fault that was easy to sort out.

I took the opportunity to tidy up the wires behind the dash and lubricate the air control mechanisms which now all work much better.
