COC Advice please

US vehicles can be imported into Spain, by those that are legally entitled to do so. The requirements are published on the net explaining everything you need to know. As most US vehicles do not have a COC it’s done on an individual case when the vehicle is inspected.
helps if you read/write/speak Spanish.

Whilst there are undoubtedly a number of US cars (and dealers, for instance Coast Classics) in Spain I'm unclear whether a US car needs to be imported from US as opposed to another European state. However, I've never done it myself and certainly don't speak/write/read the local language.

depends what you are trying to do. Are you trying to circumvent the Spanish system? If not then you have to import the car following a single acceptance rule. One problem is, if its been to UK first you won't have original title - maybe that is needed? UK is not in the EU now, so no 'sharing' if the car was imported in one country its ok in the other (NL and DE do this very often - I lived in both). Currently, i'm in DE, a friend tried to get 'required' paperwork by importing first to UK (when we were in EU) then to DE (not an American car, but a Chile import) - the German's still want to do their single acceptance test despite all British documentation.

Myself having imported a C7 into DE, we know why my mate could bring his Chilean car - Germany requires a large number of documents, original title etc (which they take off you) and a 5-8page datasheet with acceptance test listed that 'normal' MOT test centre can do (lets not get onto specialist ones). As the C7 is a 'known' car, they have a doc to work off. Possibly the same in Spain, but you'd be in between a mix of US and 'UK' docs.

BTW, I had a COC for my camaro (EU spec) and Germany wouldn't touch that as I'd modified it, and the mods don't have documents....
I don't know the Spanish system, but the moral of my point is check everything, then check again, and try go/visit/speak with the actual people. It might be hassle/hard but in the end everything is much smoother

make usual vin checks etc and carfax. Not only one, i've believe seen one very similar in Germany for sale too (I live here) but alsa still rare and if you like the body kit - great. Otherwise up to you in general to compare prices of what available etc. Looks wel, I don't personally like the yellow inside, but that's me. Regardless of body kit, look at it just as a 'stingray' so you are not too drawn by the good looks

Well, it certainly looks nice, as I’ve said before yellow has always suited the corvette. It’s low mileage, some history from Ian Allen motors which is good as they probably wouldn’t entertain a bad car. Do the usual checks that you would do for any car purchase. No much more to say really.

Thank you …when You say BODY KIT do you mean it left the factory as say a narrow bodied car ( as such ) and then has had an aftermarket body kit put on and the wheels spaced out to suite it ? …

Yes, don’t think it left GM like that.

Thank you …last question ( promise ) ….you say look at it just as a Stingray ? …didn’t quite understand that as it seems to be an all singing 650HP Corvette C7

The ad appears to have "ended." If still for sale, I'd be very careful buying that car/checking its history/provenance:
1) As it says in the ad, its a "Stingray" (466BHP) with a German made (why?) bodykit. Its not a widebody 650bhp C7 Z06.
2) The advert says it has the LS3 engine (C6 Corvette). It doesn't, it should have the LT1 engine.
3) Ad doesn't say what year it is? But looks to have the 8 speed auto that came on US cars from 2015. Steering wheel is round at bottom, not square as from 2016, so a 2015.
4) Ad doesn't say if it has the Z51 performance pack. Wheels look like Z51 (and coilovers been added to it).
5) Its a US car, but has headlight washers. US cars dont have them. Maybe because the bodykit is German and includes them (see their website above). Do they work work? But no problem anyway as car has an MOT?

As noted above, essential to have a US CARFAX report on that car. I would be asking Ian Allan/Parts USA what they can tell you about the car. But they probably won't re customer confidentiality/data protection.

Car still for sale on Ebay in Chorley. It may be OK, but you need a CARFAX report on it, to ensure it has not been written off/damaged in the US before coming here, Says it has FSH with Ian Allan. How long has it been in UK? If not since new, is there US service history/stamped service book/invoices? Picture of engine does show its the LT1 engine. Seller doesn't have much Ebay history and ad details (LS3 engine/ Supercar V8 GTR SUPRA) cause for concern?

Take, I have been to see this car and was not tempted. History is very sketchy and its been for sale for a while. I would speak to John or Neil at USA Car Parts in Stockport as I think they "know" the car!

Its a 2014 car for reference. The body kit is an aftermarket kit from Prior Design if you google them. It's got coilovers fitted and lowered, did not drive smooth at all, I would keep looking, this started out for sale at £65k and he's desperate to offload it to someone!
