I have recently joined the club and am in need of some help re car covers. For reasons i won't go into, i've lost the garage where i store my 79 GMC Vette in for the past 6 years and now, for at least 6 Months, will have to keep it on my drive. I have researched half covers and full covers that are waterproof but can still let the air in but it is a minefield out there! Don't mind spending a bit to get the right cover, around the £150 to £200 mark but can someone recommend a company or a car cover if they have had a good experience with one. I don't want to draw attention to the car whilst on the driveway so i'd prefer a full cover but any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Car covers tend to create their very own microclimate underneath their layers. Even the very best multi layer, breathable cover can trap moisture and interact against the paintwork in adverse weather conditions. Yes, they are supposedly 'breathable' but I'm guessing this function can be overwhelmed in consistent poor weather conditions.
Importantly It the car had had a fresh coat of paint (even if a number of years ago and the car hasn't 'seen' temperatures below freezing) at some point any moisture trapped in the surface of the glass fibre and paint can freeze. Ice expands when frozen - this can create all sorts of issues on the paint surface potentially, most common one being microblistering.
