Help please, back story first. I had bought a C5 with the annoying guide rail slack in them. I removed them and fitted new bushes. Replaced the seats everything worked fine electrically. However on the drivers seat if i braked or accelerated hard, it felt like part of the frame could move. Anyhow, i decided to remove the drivers seat again. When adjusting the seat front to back to access the x4 mounting screws. I then removed the seat and placed it on the ground. I made up a loom to connect the seat outside of the car so i could see what was going on with it when i sat in it. Upon connecting the loom i noticed the seat wound all the way back without switching. I didn't notice the significance of this until i realised later that i had a flat battery.
New battery purchased, and non of the seat functions working, just the sound of a motor trying to turn. I stripped down the seat and fitted the frame with motors back in the car. Upon touching the main connector to the seat the motor immediately & continuously spun backwards (note, i had also removed the gearwheel assy's). So that was what drained the battery & presumably what is blocking the function of the other motors too.
I have directly connected the motor to a battery and it will spin both ways, i just appear to not have whatever it needs to tell the motor to stop.
Very long winded, but apart from the control module maybe, ive checked the continuity of all wires involved, the connections. Have i blown something in the control module? I am assuming that is what the 3inch square black box is?
