Hi all, just saw a youtube vid of a guy moving the shift rod clevis pins down to a lower hole on the two shift levers to giver a sportier shorter throw.
Anyone tried this and did you find any improvement.I have ‘nt checked mine yet to see which hole they are in now .

Many of us in the 1980s changed to the short throw setting for shorter shift times to the RPM power band
Depends though on the driver and how they're shifting style

If seem to miss shifts or grinding the syncros than go back to the long throw
If not, keep short throw

I've done it. In my case it solved a problem of the shift lever hitting the console plate. Still working well. See here.
