Front mainshaft bearing carrier query.

Hi, some may have been following my thread where a bolt rattled out of (we think) my gearbox mainshaft bearing support. Collected all bits ready to strip out and send gearbox for a rebuild. The muncie re build kit came with new bearings but I also found an upgraded front bearing kit which comes with a sealed bearing, a steel spacer plate, two gaskets, new bolts for the bearing support and the correct french locking tabs to hopefully stop it coming loose again.
i have also bought a new bearing carrier in case old one is cracked or damaged.
Has anyone used this upgrade before which is supposed to stop potential oil leaks from this area which mine is suffering from. I am presuming the gaskets go either side of the steel plate between the bearing carrier and the gearbox casting.
Any thoughts or experiences appreciated.

o one seen one of these before then I’m guessing?
I will give it to the gearbox man with all the other bits . The PO of my 72 in the usa is still pretty sure the box cant come out without the engine due to the fact its a manual and has a fixed crossmember. I have read several descriptions on here and online of the procedure to remove and it doesnt seem that bad. A bit fiddly, but dooable.

Not seen one and no experience but I’m not a fan of a sealed bearing there, it by its nature relies on the lubrication within it as opposed to the gearbox oil.

Can see that point oneball, i think the original ones dont have a seal but a deflector that directs oil back to the box. I have both now so see what the muncie specialist thinks when he does it. By buying it tho at least i got the locking tabs that we were struggling to find 👍
