I have been trawling through a load of old photos today and came across one of my 1988 Misubishi Starion 2.0 litre wide bodied turbo that I owned circa 1990 - 1992. and was its second owner . A great car at the time with 0 - 60mph in 6.3 secs , 177 bhp and 214 ft lbs torque . I seem to recall at the time of launch it was the worlds most powerful production car 4 cylinder engine . I was Clerk of Works for Northamptonshire County Council at the time and clocked up a lot of miles visiting construction sites all over the county . With the registration F999 CWA , the girls in head office referred to it as the " Emergency Clerk of Works Alert " car as I was contactable by Pager ( remember them ? ) in the days before mobile phones were standard issue .
It really did look like a short wheel base Camaro IROC - Z28 although I did not give it much thought at the time . Ironically my 1980 C3 is now running a 1985 Camaro ROC - Z28 engine but sans the Tuned Port Injection with Edelbrock Torker 2 inlet manifold and Edelbrock 600 cfm Performer carb instead .
