Can someone please help with some advice re headlamps?... Must I change the LHD car lights for use on UK roads when imported?

There are some questions/answers relating to US spec C7 lighting on our old forum which may help - CCCUK - View topic - Looking to buy a C7 help required
Bottom line is if the dipped beam is 'flat' rather than biased to the right (rather than left for the UK) then other than possibly some minor adjustment to the beam you may be OK. If its a 'fresh' import you'll need to look at front indictor side repeaters and rear fog lights additionally + plus potentially headlamp washers?

No. C7 Corvette is fine straight out of the tin.

Just need some side indicators and a rear fog lamp.

Euro C7s have just a single, offside reversing lamp and the nearside reversing lamp position is used (with a red bulb) for rear fog lamp.

Hi All. just imported my own US 2017 C7 but have yet to apply for the IVA. I am still not clear on the best method to convert to side indicators.
Any & all information would be greatly appreciated.
Also, is the offside reversing lamp and the nearside reversing lamp position used (with a red bulb) for rear fog lamp an applicable fix for US import cars?

Just to clarify, on a UK spec car the reversing light is on the drivers side of the car and the fog light is on the passengers side of the car.

Thanks for the clarification, guys. Now I just need to figure out the best location for and installation of side repeaters.

Neil, US C7s imported to UK have had side repeaters fitted either in 1) The front wing side vents 2) On the door mirrors or 3) In the front orange running lights. 1) Appears to be the most common/popular (maybe the easiest?). A previous club member C7 Z06 that he brought back from the States had the IVA prep work done by ShipMyCar. They fitted them in the side vents. Are you doing the work yourself? Cheers

Thanks for the valuable info. Looks like the side vent route will be the way to go. Will not be doing the work myself, so I guess I need to find a relatively local (Worcestershire) automotive electrician to give me a hand?

I'd be getting someone who has experience of C7 IVA conversions to do it. E.g Lincolnshire Corvettes/American Dreams mentioned in here:
Keith Beschi at Eurovettes may also be able to help.

Great information, thanks. Following the links really gave me a much better understanding of what's needed.
I agree, definitely need somebody with experience of C7 IVA conversions. To be honest, I was hoping to find somebody a bit closer to me than Lincolnshire.

That’s always been the problem with minority/ specialist cars, finding people local to work on them. Normally travelling is required.

If I remember correctly, KeithC7 (see link) was the Club PR man on the Committee and lived up Gloucester way I think. His had the side repeaters in the front running lights. When he I spoke to him at Hampton Court a few years back, he mentioned the name of the company that did the IVA work (hadn't heard of them/cant remember their name). Looks like Keith has not renewed his membership so you will not be able to PM him for info? Someone on here might have a phone# for him?

I purchased Keith's C7 and have it now. Just checked all the paperwork and the company that did all the work was Sigma Automotive in Old Buckenham Norfolk. On the invoice they charged £400 for the mods inc the fog light and side repeaters. They can do all the IVA registration and everything inc collection from port by the looks of it.
