Not that I am against the idea but the government under AB would better serve the country by stopping the boats and deporting all illegal imigrants before the starting to waste more tax payers money by p***ing about with trivia like that !!

It’s just a classic low hanging fruit job. It was on the tick list of things to look at and I doubt much time let alone evidence was needed to process it. The question of whether it was of value to the tax payer was long out of the mind.

To be fair, I kind of do that anyway - have a "classic car MOT inspection". It makes sense to get it checked. I put it into the garage, they check it over and highlight any issues for me, and check things I can't - like brake balancing etc.
