It is an interesting series of observations that Jakob Geirsen commits to in print. To a degree he is correct with some of his comments - but split window '63 coupes being perthaps 25 - 30 percent more than later coupes and roadsters..........well, the laws of supply and demand will ensure the comparitive rarity of a C2 coupe will certainly make it expensive than a similar spec' convertible........and a '63 'split-window', "25 - 30 percent more than later coupes and roadsters" won't get you too far.........think more like 50% higher (if you can actually find a 'splitty'!). Guessin' that Jakob owns or has only driven small block powered Corvettes with the statement "396 and 427 cu in big block cars that arrived from 1965 are too nose heavy, despite the appeal of their fierce power" . Fact is that whilst a small block Vette may have close to 50/50 front/rear weight distribution........with many big block cars having lighter aluminium components, (and certainly heavier than the small block cars we're only talking) weight-up about 90 to 120 lbs perhaps more than the small block engine (which is far from being a lightweight itself) and will most likely have a 52/48 front/rear weight distribution.......not perfect, but generally better than most of the Corvettes contemporaries from the day.

Old saying, there’s no substitute for cubic inches.
Big block corvettes rule. Always have done, always will.
A 67 427/435 yeh baby.

Thing is......the writer quotes the "fierce power of the 396 and 427 big blocks" ..........tbh can't see that descripton applying to L36 427's and 396's (unless perhaps driving with right foot planted flat on the floor boards!) - perhaps 427/435's, and certainly L88's. Even my 489 (at similar hp to an L88) is really a pussycat (if you keep out of the primaries!)
