The hard tonneau cover of the sports roadsters really transformed the look of the 61-63 cars made them look even more sleeker.
T-Birds of that era also had beautiful interiors, very cockpit ish.
Love um.
The 'swing away' steering wheel (for the American corporate gut) was always a novel and useful feature (if so physically 'structured')

Forgot all about that feature. It was a great idea, certainly help the larger person get past those large steering wheels of the era.
Would certainly appreciate it now 😂

There were a couple of nice “name “ plates about near us in the late 60’s-80’s.
One was DER1C on various Rolls over the years. He owned a small ( but obviously profitable) plastics company.
The other was COL1N owned by car dealer Colin Alabaster. He also had VIP 1 which is now on Roman Admrahamovic’s corniche convertible.

In the late 70’s an English /American ex pat living in Crouch End had a California plate that read BOLOCKS. He explained that as that word didn’t exist in the USA the California DMV allowed it. He got pulled up quite regularly by all accounts, but all perfectly legal.

Remember one of the early hot rods from the 70's - Devon Cream I think it was called - a two door Austin Devon with (as I recall a Pontiac engine) Hornchurch/Romford based - can't recall the names, I do remember one having a 455 TransAm SD.....super rare even then and registered EGO1 or 1EGO.
