Just a guess but being brass I doubt it would compress more, than just a little, enough to clamp to the line being used
the shape of that fitting you call an olive should be the same shape as the bottom of connector hose goes into

My thoughts too , which makes me wonder if the block fitting for copper is different to the block fitting for plastic. The original block fitting I clamped a ball bearing and araldite into it to temporarily isolate the pressure gauge. I still have the option of fitting a new plastic line for wich i have all the correct fittings. Or the braided line for which I dont think I have everything i need yet. . Am awaiting a reply from peter in buffalo if there is another size of fitting for the copper line.

Internal size of the olive is bigger by far than the tube, hsve now found a pack of 10 olives that look to be the correct size. Less than a fiver on amazon. Be here tomorrow

Still a tiny weep but scared to keep tightening. Will renew the whole line to the gauge. But still need one fitting for the braided line or go with the platic or new copper , too many descisions
Hi Gary, here is the back of my centre gauge cluster - disappointingly looking like it needs another refresh after 4 (possibly more) years in a box....
and here are the parts for the (plastic in my case) hose connection....
Hope this helps....
Just as an fyi: Custom Autosound Manufacturing still exists and produces some neat replacement radios with modern components...
