Sorry if this is the incorrect section or been asked many times before.

Corvette paint codes....
Are the colour options corvette have offered over the years eg white, black, red, etc the same paint codes or do they differ slightly?
Iโ€™m currently waiting on delivery of my C4 in Dark red metallic and noticed the other Genโ€™s also have Dark red metallic options and wondered is this the same colour used over the Genโ€™s.

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘8FE108DB-A9AF-40B2-8EF9-957F92DE892D.jpeg

1986, 1987,1988 C4s had 'Dark Red metallic' Code 74; 1989 & 1990 Dark Red metallic was Code 68; 1991,1992, 1993, 1994 &1995 Dark Red metallic was Code 75.
I have no idea of the difference (if any) between codes 74, 68 & 75.
I expect someone in CCCUK, or one of the paint-shop specialists (Custom Exotics? Mechspray?) will know......

Appreciate the reply. Mine is looking like it will need a respray after cooking in the Navada sun for years. I wonder if body shops would be able to get the exact original paint colour right ๐Ÿคž

My local paint shop has always matched my paint from Corvette paint code perfectly. I recently bought paint for 66 and 67 from eBay and those too are perfect so you wonโ€™t have a problem.

Thanks, thatโ€™s good to know. I love the dark met red on the C5 and was worried body shops may struggle to match it ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

As already said , any good body shop will Spectrum Gun an exact match from a good paint sample . I had no idea exactly what spec my metallic purple paint was but the body shop got it bang on and it turned out to be Ford Violet Metallic . They gave me a swatch complete with the exact make up and gram weights of all the components and specifications for future reference . I was well pleased with the results .

Same as above with regard to the paint colour matching. I took the petrol tank cover off and sent it off to be scanned. Turned out to be a Dodge Blue colour I think.
