Just purchased a 1996 C4 convertible seems to be a lovely car, this is my Second C4
But I am already getting cheesed off with the passive keyless entry
I cannot seem to turn it off, I think I have followed the instructions in the driver's handbook but cannot get it to turn off
My devious plan was to take the fob battery out while sitting in the car and then when I walk away it can't lock itself !!
Does anybody think this might be a good idea ????

Can't remember what I did with my 93 it was around Ten years ago !

Have you followed "Turning the System Off" steps of the process closely to turn PKE off ?

Tried this to no avail
I have only one button on my fob which is a picture of a door
Where the manual shows two buttons !!!!!!

Does the 1 button work when normally pushing it to lock or unlock the doors ?
Are you holding the button down long enough to turn PKE off or on ?

There were 2 fob types for C4s

2 buttons type are for the coupe (doors and hatch buttons) and
1 button type is for ragtop models
