Resin/glass query

Hi all, wondered if anyone has glassed up the 454 badge holes on a BB Hood? I read that due to the vettes being smc f/ glass, a particular resin should be used, pos polyester or epoxy? I Plan to glass over from behind with a little f/glass mat or cloth then fill holes from top with resin or f/ glass filler. Tia

Owwww... do you have a BB hood as well now? Mine has a BB / LT1 or whatever hood on it too. It has no holes in it, came like that when I bought the car.

Could you get a "350" badge and put that in the holes? I'd have to get a 327 badge if mine had holes.

The other option you could consider if you don't fancy all that faff of fibreglassing etc - "just" buy a 454 big block and install it in the car

Yah only the LT-1 hood came without the badge holes. Can't imagine it would be too difficult to fill them puppies in as you described

A word of caution - are the hoods spoken about OEM pressure moulded - or aftermarket 'laid-up' 'glass fibre with 'hairy' underside?
