Ahole climbed out and took off running after a hit-and-run accident that left less than 200 residents in the area briefly without power Saturday night.

Details remain sketchy about the accident that occurred about 7 p.m. last night at Magnolia and Maylen roads in West Ashley, South Carolina near Charleston. Magnolia Road is known for its lively bars and restaurants.

Witnesses told deputies with the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office that the C7 Corvette driver lost control, left the roadway, soared into the air,
clipped a power pole
, and finally came to a halt in the road again.

The driver then fled the scene and has not been found, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Andrew Knapp.
The scene had been cleared by deputies about 90 minutes after the wreck,
and Dominion Energy crews soon restored electrical service, according to the 11 p.m. edition of Live5 News out of Charleston.
