Hi again,
Has anyone managed to replace the shift lever seals on a muncie four speed in situ? Do you know if the two levers and the side casing / cover has to come off and if they are o rings or something else?
many thanks 👍

They’re a metal cased lip seal. You will need to remove the pressed arm from the lever.
You might be able to do in situ but it’d be a damn sight easier just to take the side cover off.

Thanks oneball , do the seals locate in the cover ?

Worth checking for play in the shaft. The seals might be ok and the bush gone giving too much movement for the seal to cope with.
