My mate who I race with is at Silverstone this weekend.

He qualified on pole but in a very unsporting way the club made him start from the pits.

If you could vote for him in the link below it’d be appreciated.

I was there to witness it . An awesome car that was penalised for running on slicks and not road tyres but was only challenged minutes before the race started . I didn`t look close enough yesterday ( Friday ) to see if he was on slicks for qualifying . Begs the question what was Scrutineering up to ? ?

He wasn’t on slicks. He’s on treaded Goodyears.

Is that what they said the reason for him starting from the pit was?

Here is your mate clawing his way up through the field at Aintree plus a couple more shots as he launches into Hamiliton Straight . My friend and Gentleman Racer David Mercer with years of BRDC membership and experience and knows your mate was less than impressed with the ruling . Not to mention the debacle of the restart after a red flag during the Derek Bell Trophy that his son Mark was racing in with his March 78B Formula Atlantic . Mark is seriously quick and always presses the F2 and Formula 5000 cars hard throughout the series . Mark was 6th on the grid after qualifying 1st in class behind 5 F2 and F5000 cars and was still holding position as the pack got stretched out . He ended up with just 6 minutes track time in what was meant to be a 20 minute race so had no chance of progressing up the field .

See my post below . I was in the garage with David and Mark Mercer after the Derek Bell Trophy race No. 2 and that was what David told me .
