Can anyone recommend where I will be able to get get a spare key cut for my C3 1970 Corvette

You should be able to get a key cut from your current key at a good quality locksmiths . It might take them a few days to get the correct blank though . I had no trouble getting a spare cut for my 1980 model year C3

How can you tell if you need a "A", "C", "E" or "J" key?

As always, the 68 likes to be awkward - my key has "GM C" (GMC, how appropriate ) on the back of the head of the key (assuming instructions in picture above stating the front and right hand side etc).
