The Las Vegas Baked C4 build.

I 'see' a golden opportunity here.........as you intended installing a hotter cam AND you need new heads.......why not consider a pair of aftermarket performance heads and as the block will probably need boring anyway.........think about a new stroker rotating assembly. Significantly better torque coupled with a sensible matched cam could be the way to go.........perhaps?

Right you are buddy, I’ve had my eyes on a Eldelbrock top end kit which comes with heads cam etc that looks pretty good.
what would you recommend?

There is 2 build sheets in C4

Top of gas tank,
Take off rear license plate
Remove pass side back-up light
Use flashlight to look to the right to top back corner of gas tank.
IF your build sheet is visible, remove via pass side tail light.

If need be
Anchor tank strap firmly with vise-grips, or it will twist like a pretzel.
Go under car and carefully loosen tank strap with socket and ratchet until you can slip build sheet out from under

Or look at the backside of the front cross member under the power steering reservoir for a small hole (quarter size).
If you can see the build sheet, it can be removed by twisting round and round with tweezers until it comes out.

Oh wow that’s cool information. I definitely don’t have the gas tank build sheet but I’m definitely going to look for the second one tomorrow, thanks buddy 😁

Nothing wrong with Edelbrock........however IMHO their induction systems are the best in the business, but they are a bit behind the times with cam design. There are better choices out there in the market place. Remember the cylinder head is where all the power comes from - use a better head, and you don't need such a hot cam. Use a 383 stroker kit and develop a torque monster. Look at heads from Dart, AFR, Brodix, Trick Flow and yes, Edlebrock.

Another job done to the car, which was actually one of the first things I did but never posted, was replacing all the weather stripping.
Actually a pretty easy straight forward job.
Hardest part was scraping all the old rotten stripping off.

Outer door seals replaced also. A little more difficult than the rubber seals but my original ones were pretty much none existent.

Next big post update will be interior ones as the engine is on hold.

One of the first little jobs I took on was replacing the gear stick head and boot.
I say little job but it took me about half a day to remove the old gear stick head and I literally punch my self in the face when I broke free.

When I got the car, the dash was destroyed! Completely melted by the vegas sun.
I originally saw this s something I may have to live with as importing a new dash over from the US would of near enough cost me about the same as shipping a car over because the 1990 dash is one big piece unlike the older models which are made up of a few small parts.

so with no hope of getting a replacement I got creative with repairing the one I had with foam filler and then panel filler, sanding down to a smooth finish then painting it, then after all that I ordered a dash cover anyway and covered the eye saw up 😂

A few weeks past and one evening searching through eBay I come across a second hand dash for a 1990 and a steal of a price and on top of that postage was only £40, I could not believe my luck. As every time I found one prior, sellers were quoting me hundreds for postage to the U.K.

All in, the new Dash with postage cost me £300 and here it was…..12304D78-1B9D-45DC-9F6E-8C4BE855A043.jpeg
And next to the old one…

so I got away to stripping the old dash out and a few other bits as I had other side jobs on the go too at the same time.

It was in and looking fresh, somthing I never imagined I could get done to the car.

What is the functional condition of the tranny, drivetrain and brakes ?
Unfortunately, I’ve never had the car running so I’m not 100% sure on the tranny.
The brakes are something I’ve already worked on and replaced all pads disk, lines, fluids etc so I know they’re good.
