Hendrick (Motorsports) Driven for Veterans has their largest fundraising event of the year coming up this weekend with their annual Talladega Track Day held on Saturday, May 27th at the Talladega Superspeedway.
You can book a reservation now to drive your Corvette on the 2.7 mile super speedway and all proceeds go towards assisting those veterans who have served our country with honor and distinction.

Previously known as Vettes4Vets, Hendrick Driven for Veterans is a non-profit organization that hosts this exciting annual Memorial Day fundraiser. The automotive fun kicks off this Friday afternoon (May 26th) with a Show and Shine at the Hendrick Hoover Automall from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
This annual car show brings in some great looking Corvettes and muscle cars from Birmingham and all around the Southeast. All are welcome and food and entertainment will be provided.

On Saturday, May 27th, the Talladega Superspeedway opens to participants who can book single track sessions that consist of five laps, and each session is limited to 15 cars, plus the Pace Car and the follow-on vehicle.
Enthusiasts can purchase the 5-lap track sessions for $110 per session, and multiple sessions are available.
The laps are run at what are considered “safe speeds” on the superspeedway.
With Talladega being a 2.7 mile tri-oval course with 33-degree banking, the cars can get pretty spread out, and you can expect speeds that are generally faster than normal highway driving, but it’s all done within the safe confines of the track.
The first session begins at 8:00 AM and while those cars are running, the next session of 15 cars is staged, and so on and so forth…

Gary Nelson runs the Corvette department at Hendrick Chevrolet Hoover and is also the chairman of Hendrick Driven for Veterans. Gary flew Cobra gunships in Vietnam before piloting a 747 for UPS, and he has been at the Chevrolet dealership since 2016.
Gary told us the story of how Hendrick Chevrolet Hoover stepped up years ago to donate the $11,000 fee for the one-day track rental of Talladega, and Hendrick has been a partner in the annual fundraising event every year since. Gary says the annual track run brings in over $30,000 after expenses for veterans.
