'71 T top 350 auto:
A bendy plastic thingy, it's spring loaded but only comes out about an inch and appears to have no use!
Any idea what it is please?

Yes, I wondered that too. If nothing else, I suppose it gives you something to pull on when removing the instrument panel?

I think there’s supppsed to be two screws that go through it into the u clips

Correct Oneball, I see the 2 holes but no screws in there, I'll whack a couple in.
